Computer viruses are now 40 years old! The first computer virus, called The Creeper, was unleashed upon humanity 40 years ago. The Creeper was relatively simple, and all it did was show a message, "I'm the creeper, catch me if you can!". It would then move itself to another computer, continuing to irritate and annoy others. Of course, viruses have become much more advanced now, with some even able to cause damage to computer hardware. Earlier viruses were simply annoyances, but newer ones are made with actual crimes in mind. In 1990, there were 1,300 viruses. Now, there are over 200 million viruses. I can't even imagine how many there will be by 2050.

40 years of hacking and being hacked!
